Stolen van intercepted in Hillcrest as one of Tactical Response acts swiftly.
Tracing Point Security has once again proven what a strong camera network and a fast, well-trained response team can achieve.
At about 10:40, a licence plate detection camera in Hillcrest picked up a stolen VW panel van as it drove past.
The alert went straight to our Tactical Response members. They moved quickly, reached the van and stopped it at a petrol station in Hillcrest.
SAPS was called to the scene, where officers caught the suspect. The van was then handed over to SAPS at Hillcrest for further processing.
Cameras spotted the threat, the team acted without delay, and a suspect was caught. That is what a connected security network looks like in practice.
