At approximately 17:58 on Wednesday, 07 October 2026, a message was received on the West Riding Community Policing Response WhatsApp Group reporting that suspects were inside a former bottle store. Tracing Point Security’s Tactical Response Unit (TRU) responded immediately and arrived at the premises within minutes.
On arrival, the Tracing Point team worked their way through a number of security gates before gaining access to the building. The team then conducted a thorough search of the premises for the reported suspects. During the search, the suspects were located hiding inside the ceiling.
The Tracing Point Tactical Responders successfully located and brought the suspects down from the ceiling. The suspects were then removed from the premises and brought over the security gate to the outside of the property.
The property owner did not wish to pursue criminal charges against the suspects. Following a lengthy discussion, the suspects were released and instructed not to return to the area.
Well done to the Tracing Point Security Tactical Response Team for their swift response, determination and willingness to enter, search and locate the suspects, ensuring the situation was brought under control.
Thank you to the other private security company for securing the exterior of the premises while the Tracing Point team entered the building, conducted the search and dealt with the suspects.
This incident once again demonstrates what can be achieved when private security companies work together, communicate effectively and put community safety first.
