Tracing Point Security ("Tracing Point", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through tracingpoint.co.za, why we collect it, who we share it with and what your rights are under the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Tracing Point Security is a trading name of Tracing Point (Pty) Ltd, company registration number 2020/659679/07, PSIRA registration number 4438109. Head office: Offices 51–53, Richdens Village Centre, 59–61 Old Main Road, Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal.

1. What we collect

Information you give us when you fill in a form:

• Armed response sign-ups: your first name, surname, mobile number, suburb and your consent choices.
• Guarding enquiries: your name, company or estate name, contact details and details about the site you want protected.
• Contact form: your name, email address, phone number and your message.
• Job applications: your name, contact details, CV and anything included in it, such as your work history, qualifications and PSIRA grade.

Information collected automatically when you visit the site: your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you visit, how you arrived at the site (for example, which advert or link you clicked) and similar usage information. We collect this through cookies and tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook and Instagram) pixel.

2. Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry, give you a quote and arrange services you ask for.
• To sign you up for, and provide, armed response or guarding services.
• To assess your job application and contact you about it.
• To send you information about our services and offers, but only if you have agreed to this. You can opt out at any time.
• To understand how people use our website and which adverts work, so we can improve both.
• To meet our legal and regulatory duties, including those that apply to us as a PSIRA-registered security service provider.

We only process your information where POPIA allows it: with your consent, to carry out a contract with you or take steps you have asked for, to meet a legal obligation, or where we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights.

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We only share it with:

• Service providers who work for us, such as our website host, form and email providers, and analytics and advertising platforms (Google and Meta). They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
• Authorities, such as the South African Police Service, PSIRA or a court, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers store information on servers outside South Africa. When this happens, we make sure the information is protected to a standard similar to POPIA, as section 72 of the Act requires.

4. News and incident reports

We publish reports about incidents our teams respond to. We blur the faces and number plates of suspects and members of the public, and we do not publish the names or addresses of clients or victims without their permission.

5. How long we keep it

• Enquiries and sign-ups: for as long as we need them to deal with your request or provide our services, and then for as long as the law requires us to keep records.
• Job applications: for up to 12 months after you apply, so we can consider you for future roles, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
• Marketing: until you opt out.

6. How we protect it

We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to keep your information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Access is limited to staff and service providers who need it to do their work.

7. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
• ask us to correct or delete your information;
• object to us using your information, including for direct marketing;
• withdraw your consent at any time;
• complain to the Information Regulator.

To opt out of marketing messages, reply STOP to any SMS or WhatsApp message, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or contact us using the details below.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small files saved on your device that help the website work and show us how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, but some features may not.

9. Children

Our website and services are for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
